Matthew Peterson is a Music Educator with a passion for teaching and supporting his students.

Currently, Matthew is the Band Director for Irvington High School in Irvington, NJ, and Assistant Director and Visual Caption Head for Morris Knolls High School in Rockaway, NJ.

Matthew received a Bachelor of Music Education from Seton Hall University. For the last ten years, he has been a Band Director and Instrumental Music Teacher in New Jersey. This also includes Assistant Conductor to the Atlantic Pops Community Band and Conductor of All South Jersey Elementary Honors Bands.

His strong passion for the Marching Arts has led him to march in the Bushwackers Drum and Bugle Corps from 2012-2014. He was part of the championship indoor wind ensemble, Rhythm X Winds, which won a World Championship during the 2015 inaugural season of WGI Winds.

He has also taught The Raiders Drum and Bugle Corps as a Visual Technician, and Fusion Core Drum and Bugle Corps for three seasons on the Brass Staff as the Mellophone Technician. Additionally, In 2018, he presented a clinic on Marching Techniques at the New Jersey Music Educators Association.

Matthew is currently enrolled at the American Band College at Central Washington University. He is excited to continue his pursuit of a Master’s degree in Music Education.
